        Comments:Animals were immunized with papain solubilized HLA A2 antigen.

        Spleen cells were fused with NS-1 myeloma cells.

        Mutation at position 107 of the alpha 2 domain of the HLA-A2 molecule results in partial loss of BB7.2 binding. [39935]

        BB7.2 and PA2.1 (ATCC HB-117) recognize overlapping epitopes on the alpha 2 domain of HLA-A2. [39936]

        The antibody cross-reacts with cells from various primate species.

        Tested and found negative for ectromelia virus (mousepox).



        Propagation:ATCC complete growth medium: The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated Dulbecco's Modified Eagle's Medium, Catalog No. 30-2002. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 10%.

        Subculturing:Medium Renewal: Every 2 to 3 days

        Cultures can be maintained by addition or replacement of fresh medium. Start cultures at 2 X 10 exp5 cells/ml and maintain between 1 X 10 exp5 and 1 X 10 exp6 cells/ml.
